Letter P tracing worksheet

The capital P is a line and a bump on top. P is a straight line with one bump at the TOP half only.

Each row alternates P and p so a child practises both forms of the same letter in one sitting — which is how it is taught, because the two shapes are learned as one letter rather than two. Say the letter SOUND as they trace rather than its name: that is what turns tracing into reading.

Words to say together while tracing: pig, pen, panda. Hearing the sound at the start of real words is what connects the shape on the page to the letter it represents.
