Seven is two straight strokes: a flat line across the top, then a diagonal pulled down to the bottom-left. No curves at all — which makes it a rest for the hand between the loopier numbers.

Keep the top line flat, not sloped; a drooping top is what makes a 7 drift toward looking like a 1.
