Letter D tracing worksheet

The capital D is a straight line and one big bump. D and B are the classic mix-up pair. D has ONE bump; B has two.

Each row alternates D and d so a child practises both forms of the same letter in one sitting — which is how it is taught, because the two shapes are learned as one letter rather than two. Say the letter SOUND as they trace rather than its name: that is what turns tracing into reading.

Words to say together while tracing: dog, duck, door. Hearing the sound at the start of real words is what connects the shape on the page to the letter it represents.
