Letter C tracing worksheet

The capital C is one smooth curve. C starts at the top right and curves left — the same opening stroke as O, G and Q.

Each row alternates C and c so a child practises both forms of the same letter in one sitting — which is how it is taught, because the two shapes are learned as one letter rather than two. Say the letter SOUND as they trace rather than its name: that is what turns tracing into reading.

Words to say together while tracing: cat, cup, car. Hearing the sound at the start of real words is what connects the shape on the page to the letter it represents.
