About subtraction to 20 colour by code — rocket

Subtraction is deliberately kept to answers between 3 and 8, so a child who is not yet confident can verify a doubtful answer by counting rather than being stuck. That is the point of this sheet over the addition ones: it is meant to work for a child part-way through learning to subtract, not just one who already has it automatic.

The picture is the same rocket used on the addition sheets, which is a deliberate choice — practising the same reveal across different operations lets a parent reuse the "which picture is it" excitement without the worksheet itself repeating.
