Doubles addition colour by code — rocket

Doubles sit apart from the other addition skills in this set because they are a memorisation target, not a strategy: a child who has to count 6+6 on fingers has not yet learned the fact. This sheet only ever asks for a double, so slow answers are as visible in the finished picture as wrong ones.

Doubles are also the bridge to near-doubles (6+7 as "6+6, plus one"), which is why this is worth having as its own sheet rather than folding a couple of doubles into the general addition ones — the practice only works if it is isolated.
