Differentiate without rewriting
Rewrite this passage at three reading levels (below, on, above grade) keeping the same key facts: [paste passage].
The parent email
Draft a warm email to a parent about [concern]: lead with a genuine strength, describe the behaviour not the child, end with a partnership ask.
Support without singling out
A student can decode but does not comprehend. Give me 5 during-reading supports that do not single them out.
Why the brackets matter
The [square brackets] are the whole trick. A prompt that works unchanged for anybody is too vague to give you anything usable back — you get the average of the internet. The brackets tell you exactly which specifics to swap in, and the specifics are what make the answer yours.
The more concrete the detail, the better the output. “Explain fractions to a 7-year-old using an example from Minecraft” beats “explain fractions simply” every time, because the second one has nothing to aim at.
These work the same in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. If an answer comes back generic, add one more real detail and ask again — that is almost always the fix.
