Days: neighbors and the weekend pair
After Monday? Before Friday? Between Tuesday and Thursday? Neighbor questions build random access to the week — knowing where Wednesday lives without reciting from Sunday.
Hit the wrap-around on purpose: after Saturday comes Sunday, and a child who answers that without pausing owns the loop.
Months: twelve is a lot
The month sequence is four times longer than the week and comes with a second wrap (December to January). Anchor questions help: first month, last month, right after June, between March and May.
How-many questions (7 days, 12 months) belong in the mix — plenty of kids can sing the sequence but stall on the counts.
Fix the scrambled list
Wednesday, Monday, Tuesday — put it in order. Unscrambling is harder than reciting because it demands comparisons, and comparisons are where the order truly gets built.
Keep the sets adjacent (March, January, February) at first; distant scrambles come later.
Yesterday, today, tomorrow
If today is Monday, what was yesterday? If tomorrow is Sunday, what is today? Relative-day puzzles are the application layer — the reason the sequence was worth learning.
Save the best for last: if today is the last day of April, what month starts tomorrow? One question, both loops.
